Η κοινωνική φροντίδα στην κοινότητα : η περίπτωση των ηλικιωμένων και το πρόγραμμα "Βοήθεια στο σπίτι"

The object of the present work deals with the issue of community care for the elderly, raised now, as one of the most basic social needs, due to demographic and social changes, which have occurred in modern societies and which have changed the map of population age. Through the study of community care and especially the social care programs for the elderly, we will focus on the program “Help at Home” to inquire from the side of the staff, whether the program achieves its objectives and whether and to what extent meets the needs of elderly. Methodologically, the object to be studied, is inquired through a review of Greek and foreign literature and the qualitative research, which was conducted in the program "Help at Home," applicable to the municipality of Agii Anargyri- Kamatero. In conclusion, the main aim of social policy in social care for the elderly remains their stay, as much as possible, in the community with their active participation and the avoidance of the psychological distancing and the social exclusion from the larger whole.
