Δουλγεράκη, Σοφία
2009
Using annual data from the Greek economy of 1960 until 2006, we aim to define the development of employment in Greece and to estimate the point that the employment is affected by macroeconomic variables, such as crude oil, bank rates, inflation, and industrial production. For the evaluation of empirical results, the econometric program EVIEWS was used. The results that emerged from the above mentioned project is that employment in Greece increases year by year. While on the other hand, from the empirical research it has been confirmed the fact that employment is affected in the long run from the above mentioned variables of the Greek economy. To be more specific, a negative relationship between employment and industrial production has been detected along with bank rates and crude oil, while inflation seems to react positively to employment and to industrial production.
