Abstract

An adequate legal frame for the protection of the consumers has been created as faras the national and the community level is concerned, in which the granting of a right towithdraw to the consumers holds a substantial position. The analysis of this legal frame is thesubject of the present project.Firstly, the right of withdrawal is analysed, as it provided by the general provisions ofthe Civil Code, as well as the more special provisions for the sale. Also, the connection of theright of withdrawal with other rights such as compensation is examined.Next, there has been a comparative review of the Anglo-Saxon law and theContinental law as well as the international law that has been established according to theVienna Convention.The examine of the right of withdrawal follows, as it has been formed especially in offpremisescontracts, in distance contracts, in distance marketing of consumer financialservice, in credit agreements for consumers and finally in timeshare contracts.
