Προφορική ιστορία και συλλογική-κοινωνική μνήμη: η περίπτωση των Μικρασιατών προσφύγων της Νέας Ιωνίας Αττικής

Abstract

The Oral History records the living witnesses of the past and has resulted in the spread of collective memory. The life stories designed to reconstruct the past and understanding the impact of this on people's lives. The narratives of life are a constant game, an unrelenting go - come between indoor arena of the individual and the external arena of society. The narrator is a subject placed in a social and historical environment and through the narration of his life we can see how the individual relates the story of the history of his time. We can lead the individual in society and society as a person. From personal experience and individual memory to collective experience and collective memory. The past, present and future time are away, but also coexist. The theme of this study is the approach of oral history through the oral narratives - reports of refugees from Asia Minor and how they contribute to the emergence of a collective - social - refugee memory. We focus on the case of Asia Minor refugees of Nea Ionia, more specifically the creation of the refugee settlement and living conditions prevailing in the region, while also giving attention to ways of keeping the refugee memory through physical bodies memory (monuments and naming practices) and mnemonic practices (clubs and associations of refugees). For our methodology they will be used and analyzed oral testimonies of first-generation refugees, audiovisual material, which lies in the Archives of Testimony of the Foundation of the Hellenic World. It will also seek bibliography on the arrival of refugees in Greece and their installation in Nea Ionia. Finally, there will be fieldwork and research in local institutions and local associations of refugees to gather further evidence.
