dc.description.abstractΤο άρθρο αναλύει τη λειτουργία του κοινωνικού κράτους σε περιόδους κρίσης, επισημαίνοντας ότι η κρίση δεν είναι μόνο οικονομική αλλά βαθιά κοινωνική, γεγονός που αναδιαρθρώνει τις κοινωνικές σχέσεις και αναδεικνύει τα όρια και τις αντιφάσεις της κρατικής παρέμβασης. Εξετάζονται οι διαφορετικές θεωρήσεις για την «κρίση του κράτους πρόνοιας»—αποτελεσματικότητας, νομιμοποίησης και δομικών αντιφάσεων—καθώς και οι σύγχρονες τάσεις ιδιωτικοποίησης, η ενίσχυση του ρόλου της οικογένειας και η μεταφορά βαρών στις τοπικές κοινότητες. Τονίζεται ότι η κρατική παρέμβαση συχνά αναπαράγει σχέσεις εξουσίας, ενώ οι περικοπές και η μεταφορά ευθυνών επιβαρύνουν ιδιαίτερα ευάλωτες ομάδες. Η συγγραφέας καταλήγει ότι απαιτείται μια προοδευτική προσέγγιση που θα συνδυάζει αποτελεσματική κάλυψη αναγκών με νέες μορφές συνεργασίας δημόσιου και μη κρατικού τομέα, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις πραγματικές κοινωνικές ανάγκες και τις ιδιαιτερότητες της σύγχρονης ελληνικής κοινωνίας.el
dc.description.abstractenglishThe article examines the role of the welfare state during periods of crisis, highlighting that crises are not only economic but deeply social, leading to a restructuring of social relations and revealing the limits and contradictions of state intervention. It discusses different interpretations of the “crisis of the welfare state”—those relating to effectiveness, legitimacy, and structural contradictions—as well as contemporary trends such as privatization, the increased reliance on the family, and the shifting of responsibilities to local communities. The author emphasizes that state intervention often reproduces power relations, while cutbacks and the transfer of responsibilities particularly burden vulnerable groups. The article concludes that a progressive approach is needed—one that combines effective fulfilment of social needs with new forms of cooperation between the public and non-state sectors, grounded in the real social needs and specificities of contemporary Greek society.en
