Οι έκπτωτες θυγατέρες: φεμινιστικές και queer προκλήσεις στις διεθνείς σχέσεις

Abstract

Τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες εναλλακτικές θεωρίες προσπαθούν να αμφισβητήσουν τα όρια της επιστήμης των Διεθνών Σχέσεων. Οι φεμινιστικές και queer προσεγγίσεις επιχειρούν να θέσουν προκλήσεις στις βασικές παραδοχές και τις θεματικές των Διεθνών Σχέσεων και περιθωριοποιούνται στα όρια του ακαδημαϊκού πεδίου. Η παρούσα εργασία επιχειρεί να εξερευνήσει την οπτική και τη συνεισφορά των δύο αυτών εναλλακτικών προσεγγίσεων. Όσον αφορά τις φεμινιστικές Διεθνείς Σχέσεις, εξετάζεται η συνεισφορά τους στη νοηματοδότηση βασικών διεθνολογικών εννοιών όπως, το κράτος, η ασφάλεια, ο πόλεμος και η ειρήνη. Όσον αφορά τις queer Διεθνείς Σχέσεις, εξετάζεται η σημασία της queer σεξουαλικότητας για το κράτος και η ανάδειξη νέων όρων που έχουν ιδιαίτερη σημασία στην άσκηση της διεθνούς πολιτικής, όπως η πολιτική ομοφοβία, ο queer φιλελευθερισμός, τo pinkwashing και ο ομοεθνικισμός. Μέσα από τις φεμινιστικές και queer προκλήσεις επέρχεται μια διεύρυνση της έννοιας του «διεθνούς» και εισάγονται νέα στρώματα ανάλυσης στα φαινόμενα της διεθνούς πολιτικής. Η αναγνώριση της συνεισφοράς των φεμινιστικών και των queer προσεγγίσεων μπορεί να είναι ιδιαίτερα παραγωγική και επωφελής για το πεδίο των Διεθνών Σχέσεων.

In the last decades, alternative theories try to question the boundaries of the discipline of International Relations. Being restricted on the borders of the academic field, feminist and queer approaches attempt to challenge the basic assumptions and central topics of international relations. This paper attempts to explore the perspective and contribution of these two alternative approaches. As far as feminist International Relations are concerned, the paper discusses their contribution in conceptualizing basic themes in international relations, such as the state, security, war, and peace. As far as queer International Relations are concerned, the paper examines the significance of queer sexuality for the state, as well as the emergence of new terms, such as political homophobia, queer liberalism, pinkwashing, and homonationalism, which are of particular importance in the practice of international politics. Feminist and queer challenges result in broadening the notion of "international" and in the introduction of new layers of analysis of international political phenomena. The recognition of the contribution of feminist and queer approaches can be particularly productive and beneficial to the field of International Relations.
