Περιγραφή:Metalinguistic ability has long been thought to have an impact on literacy acquisition (Mattingly, 1984). It is thus reasonable to assume that children’sawareness ot the morphological structure of words might affect the ease and speed with which they acquire spelling patterns based on grammatical distinctions. The scope of this review is to provide a synthesis of the existing empirical evidence on this topic from a cross-linguistic perspective.
