Περαιτέρω, επιχειρείται η τεκμηρίωση της υβριδικής φύσης του, η συγκριτική ιστορική προσέγγιση με άλλα ταξινομημένα είδη (παραβολή, επίγραμμα, χαϊκού, μύθο, παραμύθι, διήγημα) και χαρτογραφείται ένα πανόραμα της διεθνούς λογοτεχνικής παραγωγής με ενδεικτικούς γεωγραφικούς πυρήνες, κύριους προδρόμους (Kafka, Poe, Chekhov, Monterroso, Torri, Borges, Cortázar, Hemingway, Carver, Kawabata, Walser) και σύγχρονους εκπροσώπους (L. Davis, J. Kincaid, J.C.Oates, J. Young, B. Butler, S. Jones, K. Chinquee, D. Galef, A. M.Shua, A. Neuman, L. F. Lomelí, A. Epstein, H. Bustani, E. Keret, L. Jobson, B. Yourgrau, T. Gersão, S. Petter, N. Nadjarian, κ.α.)
Abstract:This original work, as far as the Greek research is concerned, attempts to mark out the aspects of a cultural phenomenon which has the form of a new international and national discourse genre, which in the field of contemporary literature is widely known as microfiction, flash fiction, and minificción. It’s mainly consisted of narrative and fictional elements and aims to brevity, narrative economy and clarity, thus it remains deeply complicated. Here are presented, the international debate about a commonly accepted term, its origins, the typological and methodological inadequacies of classical narratological schemes in order to classify and thoroughly investigate it as a narrative fiction literature genre, and the choice of the Greek term “micromythoplasia”, which seems to combine the characteristics of its narrative quantity and quality. It is repeatedly confirmed throughout this work that this new genre is a kind of a specific lingual network by itself, and functions as such, while it creates lingual kernels around the world at the same time. Accordingly, here are examined the international scientific attempts to capture its complicated nature, either by specialized conferences or Creative Writing Programs, as well as the social aspects of the phenomenon worldwide and it is clearly asserted that its study requires a multidisciplinary approach: narratology, literature and sociology. Furthermore, due to its hybridism and its qualitative tendency -as it seems - to move on the edge between other traditional literature genres, a comparative approach towards parable, epigram, haiku, fable, fairy tale is attempted. At the same time the work of the mostly referred to as main ancestors is examined (Kafka, Poe, Chekhov, Monterroso, Torri, Borges, Cortázar, Hemingway, Carver, Kawabata, Walser), which is followed by a worldwide panoramic view of contemporary representatives of the new genre (L. Davis, J. Kincaid, J.C. Oates, J. Young, B. Butler, S. Jones, K. Chinquee, D. Galef, A. M. Shua, A. Neuman, L. F. Lomelí, A. Epstein, H. Bustani, E. Keret, L. Jobson, B. Yourgrau, T. Gersão, S. Petter, N. Nadjarian, etc). Finally, it is attempted to study the case of some of the most distinguished contemporary Greek writers from different fields, from poetry to theatre, while they commonly share the inquiry of narrative economy, brevity and clarity and their works seem to attract similar critical attention to the contemporary representatives of microfiction worldwide. The selected minimalistic works of S. Dagdelenis, Z. Zateli, D. Kalokyris, A. Kyriakides, S. Nikolaidou, G. Palavos, N. Panayotopoulos, E. Penga, E. Sotiropoulos, M. Tsolakoudi and M. Fais) are thoroughly examined with methodological tools of G. Genette and they are anthologized in the annex of this work, with the exceptional luck of one original work of Z. Zateli and two of N. Panayotopoulos.
