Abstract:The contemporary political storytelling is not far distant from the classical Myth, in terms of conceptual structure. Classical Myths have been embedded deeply in social unconscious and until the present day, they convey elements of ecumenical truth, such as, the classical set of human Values and Archetypes. These very elements activate societies as well as, the sentiments of humans. Technically, the structure of a Myth is the prototype mold upon which the majority of notorious political narratives of propaganda have been based. The dynamics of Myth and their influence on human unconscious are absolutely accepted by the science of psychoanalysis. Myths – according to the reference in Rhetoric of Aristotle -also influence the psychological status of the masses from the beginning of time. Due to their semantic importance, they do form part, one of the main objects of study of social sciences. For, social science faculties are working and profoundly examining the ecumenical character and continuity of Myths in correlation with contemporary storytelling and its functions in society and politics. By the begging of the 21st century, the termine “storytelling” encapsulates lots of senses and functions, especially in high politics and the far advanced political communication. Storytelling, at the present time, is the main fuel of all mechanisms aiming to influence all citizens of the world as well as, their political orientation and choices. The connection and interactivity between myth, fabricated stories and propaganda is present in cosmogonies and world scale clashes ordered by the political and economical elite of those times. Under these circumstances, storytelling became gradually, the “omnipotent fuel” of propaganda mechanism while, all devices that is, the social media, enhancing its dissemination form its major accelerators. This paper, examines the most significant fundamental semantic approaches related to myth, propaganda, storytelling and the political influence they cause. At the same time, it is aiming to depict, in a great extend, the progress and development of narration and its contribution to propaganda mechanism, from early societies up to the Post Truth Era in the 21st century, during major historical paradigms such as: WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War. These are enormous cases of mass destruction that influenced Humanity and do constitute points of reference, in terms of the way people and politicians perceive Truth and Power. The mediation of propaganda fueled by intentional “fabricated stories” formed a universal status quo of the 20th century political communication until humanity reached the “Internet of Things” Era .Nowadays, stories tend to totally substitute the Self. As a consequence, Truth, is an outcast. Welcome to the Post Truth Era!
